Bean & Leaf
A premium marketing site built around brand storytelling, menu discovery, and conversion-focused design.
Problem
Local café brands often have a weak digital presence and rely only on Instagram or word of mouth. Without a proper website, potential customers have no fast way to discover the menu, understand the brand, or decide to visit — and the business loses credibility against competitors with a stronger online footprint.
Approach
Designed and built a polished, static-first marketing website that leads with brand identity and visual storytelling. The structure moves visitors deliberately from first impression, through menu and brand story, to a clear contact/location call to action — prioritising speed and clarity over feature bloat.
Architecture
A static-first Next.js marketing site optimised for fast delivery and conversion, with no backend required — every interaction is handled client-side or via Vercel's edge network.
Landing Experience
Hero section establishing brand identity and first impression within the first viewport.
Menu / Product Showcase
Interactive presentation of the café's menu and signature drinks, optimised for fast mobile browsing.
Brand Story Section
Narrative section communicating the café's identity, craft, and values.
Contact / Location CTA
Clear conversion path guiding visitors toward visiting or getting in touch.
Responsive UI Layer
Framer Motion-driven interactions and layout tuned for desktop and mobile viewports alike.
Vercel Deployment
Zero-config static deployment with global edge delivery and built-in analytics.
Key Engineering Decisions
Static-first architecture
Built as a static Next.js site with no backend dependency, prioritising fast load times and simple, reliable hosting on Vercel.
Brand-first structure
Page flow was designed around storytelling — landing impression, brand story, and menu discovery — before asking for any customer action.
Conversion-focused CTAs
Contact and location calls-to-action are placed deliberately at natural decision points rather than scattered throughout the page.
Motion as a brand signal
Framer Motion interactions were used sparingly and purposefully to reinforce a premium feel without slowing the page down.
Security Considerations
As a static marketing site with no user data collection or authentication, the attack surface is minimal. Standard hardening — HTTPS via Vercel, no exposed secrets, sanitised third-party embeds — is applied throughout.
Testing Strategy
Manually verified across breakpoints and browsers, with Lighthouse audits guiding performance and accessibility tuning for strong Core Web Vitals.
Outcome
A fast, premium café website that gives a local coffee brand credible digital presence — a clean path from first impression to menu discovery to customer action, deployed live on Vercel. Paired with Fare Café Platform, it forms a small ecosystem of hospitality websites built on the same design language.
